What is a Portfolio? Definition or Meaning

Posted by Bizversity

When dealing with clients, you may often get asked to show examples of your previous work or markets and areas in which you operate. This is where having a portfolio or a description of the types of products you sell, services you offer, projects you undertake and markets you participate in would help. In business slang, a portfolio is often referred to as an “offering mix”.

For example…

A business such as a biotechnology firm may include in its portfolio the testing, manufacturing and commercialisation of drugs, medical equipment and processes. It could include services such as consulting on specialist services, participation in government panels and get involved in community health projects too. The portfolio may also include real-life case studies to explain further the type of work they undertake.
