For many business owners, shift management is one of the most difficult parts of their role. Start off by working out what your needs are for the day and be sure to balance labour-hours against revenue. Next, you need to speak to employees about their personal scheduling preferences and needs. Assign employees to specific shifts and days according to their personal preferences and fill in gaps with those who don’t have a preference. Ask that any changes to personal circumstance be communicated a month in advance. Make sure you post the completed schedule in a visible area one,two weeks before it is due to begin to allow your staff to organise their schedules.
